Muhaddesa Haidari (NSW)
Muhaddesa Haidari is a cultural support worker at Sydney Local Health District and the Youth Ambassador at Multicultural Youth Affairs Network (MYAN) NSW. She is also a member of the Harmony Alliance, the Asia Pacific Refugee Rights Network (APRRN), and Migrant and Refugee Women for Change. Muhaddesa’s advocacy work focuses on amplifying youth voices to drive positive change in education, employment, accessibility and more.
Shelan Khodedah (NSW)
Shelan Khodedah is a young Yazidi woman who works as an administration officer and interpreter at the Multicultural Council of Wagga. Shelan and her family fled ISIS in their home country of Iraq in 2016. Since living in Australia, Shelan has shared the stories and experiences of the Yazidi community through her writing. She joined the Booranga Writers Centre in 2020.
Khalid Muse (VIC)
Khalid Muse is an Associate Research Fellow at Deakin University’s Institute for Health Transformation. He is also a youth engagement and multicultural affairs consultant, and holds a number of advisory positions across the not-for-profit, community and government sectors. Across his academic work and other pursuits, Khalid strives to create a more equitable Victoria, one that centres the voices of young people and marginalised communities.
Junyi Zhao (VIC)
Junyi Zhao is a nursing student who is dedicated to health care, social relations and community work. Eager to foster partnerships for cultural diversity, capacity building and strengthened community connections, Junyi is also committed to continuous learning and growth in nursing, leadership, community engagement and cultural exchange.
Qader Karimi (VIC)
Qader Karimi is a Community Development Officer in local government who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and pursue their dreams. Qader was born in Afghanistan and has lived in Victoria for the last two decades. He aspires to be a role model for young people and is looking forward to collaborating with YMAP members to help shape the future of younger generations in Australia.
Marilyn Bellett Ankabibian (NSW)
Marilyn Bellett Ankabibian is a Policy and Project Officer for Multicultural NSW, working to enshrine the voices of refugee lived experience into government decision-making. She is the first Australian-born Goan/Anglo Indian woman in her family. Marily has a strong background in youth advocacy and was the National President for the Australian Young Christian Workers (YCW), a social justice youth movement, in 2020.
Prathiksha Ashok Kumar (VIC)
Prathiksha is the head of the Victorian branch of Thadam, a mental health NGO dedicated to the Australian Tamil community. She is on the Monash Youth Council and has previously worked with the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria, the Centre of Multicultural Youth, School Strike 4 Climate and the Victorian Student Representative Council. Prathiksha is passionate about youth advocacy, mental health and climate change.
Pranjali Sehgal (VIC)
Pranjali Sehgal is a journalist, video presenter and producer at SBS News, where she amplifies the rich perspectives of multicultural Australia through innovative storytelling. A vocal youth and gender equality advocate, Pranjali has worked across various newsrooms, government bodies and not-for-profits, including reporting on ABC News and as a Media Advisor for the Victorian Government across the prevention of family violence, women's affairs, child protection and youth portfolios.
