The Unsaid
says a lot

Department of Family, Fairness and Housing (DFFH)

Co-designed with Trans and Gender Diverse Victorians, to change the global conversation.

Shortlisted for B&T's Bravery Award 2024 Shortlisted for CPRA's Golden Target Awards 2024

As the saying goes, diversity is a seat at the table - inclusivity is being asked to dance.

In Australia, trans and gender diverse people are twice as likely to experience depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Discrimination plays a major role.

So when the Victorian Government decided to do something, so did we. We developed a co-design creative model where trans and gender diverse people led the work from start to finish.

The Unsaid Says A Lot had a $0 media spend. It reached over 35 million people worldwide.

Our results were part of a razor-sharp integrated approach which saw:

  • 54 positive news stories (against a KPI of 9)
  • Endorsement from over 30 LGBTQIA+ organisations
  • The campaign displayed in Fed Square for eight weeks
  • Another State Government approaching us to recreate the campaign

But, most importantly, trans and gender diverse people saw their experiences reflected genuinely on-screen and felt supported by the campaign.

It was the impact that mattered the most.
