    Victorians shop BIG on Support Small Business Day!

    The initiative – culminating in a statewide shopping event on Saturday 19 October – gave a boost to Victoria’s small business sector, with residents encouraged to get out and shop BIG in local retailers.

    Think HQ led a range of activities to generate business and shopper registrations in the lead up to the day, including:

    • managing the development of a dedicated campaign website, developing all website content
    • scripting and managing the production of a 30-second online ad, as well as a series of video tutorials for participating small businesses, and;
    • stakeholder engagement – including regular e-newsletter send outs to participating shoppers and retailers.

    Think HQ brought UK retail guru Mary ‘Queen of Shops’ Portas on board to share her expert tips with participating businesses; and secured several local business ambassadors – including The Design Files’ Lucy Feagins, and Keep up creator Abigail Forsyth.

    Young philanthropists tackle Australia’s ‘giving gap’

    The Summit aims to address Australia’s low rate of charitable giving by engaging wealthy young Australians in philanthropy.

    Attendees heard from local philanthropists and social entrepreneurs including Small Giants CEO Danny Almagor and Foundation for Young Australians CEO, Jan Owen.

    Several international guests including, Girls20 Summit CEO, Farah Mohamed and Nexus Global Youth Summit Co-founder, Rachel Cohen Gerrol also presented.

    The Nexus Global movement includes people from more than 50 countries and families with more than $100 billion combined net worth.

    Summit host, the Foundation for Young Australians, engaged Think HQ to manage media relations for the event. Think HQ achieved high-quality coverage in mainstream and industry publications as well as exposure on ABC radio.

    Mapping Social Cohesion report launch

    Held at the Immigration Museum and hosted by SBS TV news presenter and journalist, Sarah Abo, and a panel of social commentators shared their views on key issues including discrimination, multiculturalism, immigration, trust in government and institutions.

    Toyota Community Foundation – Philanthropic Forum 2013 ‘Social Contribution through Multi-Sector Partnerships’

    Think HQ was tasked with creating an intimate event that would engage and inspire philanthropic leaders in Victoria, whilst highlighting the work of the Toyota Community Foundation.

    In response, Think HQ undertook the following:

    • Creation of the event concept/theme
    • Identification of guests from across the philanthropic, corporate and not-for-profit communities
    • Identification and securing of two showcase multi-sector partnerships to form the panel for the event
    • Guidance on the Toyota Foundation’s presentation
    • Development of event communications, including invitations and event collateral
    • Oversight of all event logistics and guest/panel liaison
    • Attraction of media to the event, resulting in a published article in a prominent sector publication
