Case Study: Mapping Social Cohesion Report
For three consecutive years, Think HQ has worked with the Scanlon Foundation to launch its annual Mapping Social Cohesion Report. In 2013, this involved managing the report's launch event, including a panel discussion hosted by SBS TV news presenter and journalist, Sarah Abo, and introduced by Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Social Services, Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells.
- Report author, Prof Andrew Markus
- Race Discrimination Commissioner, Tim Soutphommasane
- Director of the Migration Council of Australia, Gail Ker, AOM
- 3AW radio host, Tom Elliott
- Comedian, Nazeem Hussain
Think HQ coordinated live streaming of the event, and distilled the research findings into a short video, played at stakeholder events and shared online.
Prior to the national launch, Think HQ organised stakeholder briefings in NSW, VIC and the ACT.
Think HQ has consistently secured high quality, early news editorial coverage of the Mapping Social Cohesion Research reports. In 2013, this included coverage in more than 100 media outlets nationally, including The Australian, The Age (syndicated nationally online), Brisbane Times, The Guardian, AFR, Channel 10’s The Project, BRW online, SBS TV and radio news, 774 ABC Radio Melbourne, and ABC Radio National.
