Vanessa joined Think HQ in August this year as Research Associate. She is a critical and creative thinker, drawing on a unique combination of both Communications and Research/Evaluation experience.
Leaning toward qualitative social science research, Vanessa is driven to help amplify Think HQ and client evaluative capacity, to encourage greater reflective practice, empowering us all to look beyond the quick fix and to target the systemic issues. For Vanessa, it’s important to value historical and contemporary community knowledge, to support and direct culturally responsive research.
Vanessa previously worked with the Social Research Centre and has also worked in the not-for-profit sector at Cancer Council Victoria and International Social Services Australia, and with PR and media agencies, building experience in both commercial and non-commercial environments.
She has completed a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Media and Communications and a Graduate Certificate in Evaluation at the University of Melbourne. Vanessa also holds her Masters in Global Media Communications at the University of Melbourne, graduating in the top 3-5% of her cohort, receiving the Dean’s Honours List Award in 2020. Her academic work focused on addressing community disruptions by utilising digital technologies to preserve culture and tradition and simultaneously inspire socio-economic renewal.
